M-Factory Wap, Colour WAP, SMS and MMS
M-factory is an advanced web based tool which enables publishing of content to mobile devices. The concept behind M-factory was to create a tool that content publishers could use rather than a development tool for WAP programmers.
M-factory has been in operation for the last five years with Vodafone Ireland, helping to create one the most compelling WAP experiences currently available. M-factory isn't just limited to WAP it also incorporates MMS and SMS design and publishing tools. This year M-factory was used in the deployment of Ireland's first MMS soap opera.
Oakpoint began developing our Java Application Generator (JAG) in 2001 in conjunction with Ericsson. The initial project was to create a sample application for the following years world cup to explore this up and coming technology. Oakpoint quickly recognised that mobile java was an excellent platform for presenting multimedia content. The barrier to content provider's entry in this area was of course a technical one. Oakpoint set about removing this barrier with the release of Java Application Generator.
SoapBox is an all in one WAP, MMS and SMS based message-board. Mobile users can view and contribute to this moderator enabled system via WAP, MMS and SMS. Mobile users can create their own personal message boards which they can then limit to their specified friends list or make available to everyone on the portal. Mobile users can choose to be updated via MMS or SMS when someone replies to comment they have posted.
